Humaima Malick sizzles in new Raja Natwarlal songs

 

The promotional team behind Raja Natwarlal has released, not one, but two new videos from the film this Independence Day.
There's nothing like a public holiday to sit back and enjoy our girl Humaima Malick's first Bollywood dance number, and we have to give her props - she looks downright fantastic.
The first song, titled, Namak Paare, is an item number sung by Mamta Sharma and Anupam Amod, and features the svelte Humaima as she gets into the groove with her onscreen lover, Emraan Hashmi, in a dance club.

The track starts off promising, with peppy music, but it never quite takes off, and the underwhelming choreography doesn't help. It has potential though, and is just begging for a catchy remix to turn it into the sort of song that gets stuck in your head - the mark of a good item number.
Humaima's dancing is passable at best and her costume don't do her justice. She is capable of looking much hotter then she does in this video.
Overall, Namak Paare lacks the energy and oomph audiences have come to expect of an item song. At this point, Mahwish Hayat's 2-second thumka in Na Maloom Afraad is already the item number of the year, and we haven't even seen the entire video yet.
The chemistry between Humaima and Emraan is palpable, and they dance together with the same sensuality that was so apparent in Tere Hokar Rehenge. If there's one thing Raja Natwarlal has going for it, it's the believable connection between the male and female lead.

Accordingly to Emraan, the chemistry didn't come as naturally as the silver screen implies - it took the duo some time to get comfortable together.

In a recent interview with Times of India, the Bollywood 'serial kisser' said Humaima thought he was arrogant when they first met.
"She was nervous when she met me for the first time at home for narration. I purposely kept a distance and pretended to be reserved, so that she doesn't think I'll pounce on her and start kissing her! She felt I was arrogant. But after four to five days of shoot, it was good."

Good seems to be an understatement, and Humaima and Emraan's easy chemistry is even more apparent in the playful Flip Your Collar Back, but so is the fact that Humaima just doesn't have the moves to keep up with Emraan. She seems to be ascribing to the Nargis Fakhri school of acting, i.e. pout, strike a pose and rely on a pretty face.
