Posey and Sarah Hyland of Modern Family. The show was held on August 10, 2014 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The winners of the awards are determined by teen viewers aged 13 through 19, though there have been rumors that Fox actually selects the winners from the top 4 nominees. Winners get surfboard-shaped awards. Selena Gomez picked up what was perhaps the biggest award of the evening, the Ultimate Choice Award. The Teen Choice Awards 2014 kicked off with a performance by Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd of Really Don’t Care, the Teen Choice Song of the Summer. Demi and Cher Lloyd killed with this song. There were tons of people onstage dancing as she sang. The audience cheered and applauded wildly as Demi and Cher Lloyd finished singing. Sarah and Tyler talked about how they should start off the show, and Sarah suggested giving out the first award of the night, that of the Teen Choice Awards Song of the Summer Award. They called Demi Lovato back onto the stage and presented the award to her. Then, they called Taylor Swift onto the stage to present the next award of the evening. She gave out the Teen Choice Award for Movie Actor in a Drama. The winner of the award was Ansel Elgort. He came onstage to accept his surfboard. “I don’t surf or anything,” he said, “so I guess I’ll just put it on my wall.” The young females in the audience screamed, apparently very taken by him. He starred in The Fault In Our Stars. Presenters of the awards, besides Swift, included Keegan Allen, Nat Wolff, The Band Perry, Jake T. Austin, Zendaya, Big Show, Brenton Thwaites, Tyler Blackburn, Bella Thorne, Jamie Blackley, Gregg Sulkin, Nina Dobrev, Hilary Duff, Hailee Steinfeld, Ansel Elgort, Ian Somerhalder, Fifth Harmony, Cody Simpson, Megan Fox, Odeya Rush, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez and others. Among the performers on the Teen Choice Awards 2014 show were Jason Derulo, who sang Wiggle and Talk Dirty; Becky G, who performed her hit, Shower; Magic! who sang Rude; and, Rixton, who performed Me and My Broken Heart. Rita Ora had been scheduled to perform her hit I Will Never Let You Down, but she canceled out. Teen choice Awards 2014 Andy Samberg and Mindy Kaling then were in a video talking about other choices that teens had to make in their lives. Andy talked about what to do if a person experiences menstrual cramps and if he wears boxers or briefs. He said “Neither.” Then, the next award, which was for the Teen Choice Television Drama Show, was won by Pretty Little Liars. The actors came onstage to present the Teen Choice Award for Best Reality Show. The award went to Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Three members of the show accepted a surfboard apiece. Then, from the movie If I Stay, the Teen Choice Awards award for Movie Actor Sci-Fi/Fantasy was presented to Josh Hutcherson from The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He came up and talked about “how cool” it was to win the award. The Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for Movie Actress Action/Adventure was presented next. Nina Dobrev was one of the two presenters. The award went to Shailene Woodley, of Divergent. “The true bravery is to wake up every day and be ourselves,” she said. Divergent did very well tonight on the Teen Choice Awards show. It also won the Teen Choice Award for the Best Action Movie. The other four movies that were nominated were The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Edge of Tomorrow, Maleficent and Godzilla. The Ten Choice Awards 2014 award for Actor in an Action Movie also went to a cast member of Divergent, Theo James. The other four guys nominated were Jamie Campbell Bower, who starred in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones; Mark Wahlberg, who starred in Lone Survivor; Tom Cruise, from Edge of Tomorrow; and Kellan Lutz, the star of The Legend of Hercules. Teen Choice Awards 2014 Besides Divergent, another movie that swept the three categories it was in was The Fault in Our Stars. Earlier, Ansel Elgort won the Best Actor in a Drama award. The movie also won the Teen Choice Best Movie Drama, award. Shailene Woodley won her second award of the evening for being the Best Actress in a Movie Drama, making it a very good night for her. Yet another movie that swept the categories it was nominated in was The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Josh Hutcherson won the Teen Choice Awards 2014 Best Actor in a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie close to the beginning of the awards show. The movie won the Teen Choice Awards Best Movie Sci-Fi/Fantasy award and Jennifer Lawrence won the Teen Choice Awards Best Actress in a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie for her roles in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and X-Men: Days of Future Past. There were a ton of awards presented tonight on the Teen Choice Awards 2014 show. The Teen Choice Awards Best Actress in a Television Drama had five women nominated for it, Troian Bellisario, from Pretty Little Liars; Maia Mitchell, from The Fosters; Rachel Bilson, who stars in Hart of Dixie; Maddie Hasson, from Twisted; and, Lucy Hale, from Pretty Little Liars. The young woman who won the award was Lucy Hale. The Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for the Best Comedy Movie went to The Other Woman. Emma Roberts won the Best Actress in a Comedy Movie Teen Choice Award for her acting in We’re the Millers and Kevin Hart won the Best Actor in a Comedy Movie for Ride Along. There were a few other movie categories, like the Teen Choice Villain one, which was won by Donald Sutherland, who plays the president in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for Best Summer Movie went to 22 Jump Street and the Best Summer Movie Actor Award went to Channing Tatum from 22 Jump Street. Teen Choice Awards 2014 In the music categories, besides the Teen Choice Awards 2014 award presented to Demi Lovato for Song of the Summer, many other awards were handed out over the course of the evening. Some of them included the award for Best Male Artist, won by Ed Sheeran; Best Female Artist, won by Ariana Grande; and Best Music Group, an award that was won by One Direction. Calvin Harris picked up the Teen Choice Awards 2014 Electronic Dance Music (EDM) award, while Iggy Azalea was presented the Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for R&B/Hip-Hop Artist. Imagine Dragons earned the award for Best Rock Group. There were several Teen Choice Awards 2014 awards given in the category of country music, also. For example, the Teen Choice award for Male Country Artist went to Hunter Hayes, while Taylor Swift won the Best Female Country Artist award. Lady Antebellum picked up the Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for Teen Choice Country Group. The Teen Choice Awards 2014 award that was given for the Best Country Song was for This Is How We Roll by Florida Georgia Line (featuring Luke Bryan). Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea won the Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for Best Song by a Female Artist with the hit, Problem. The Teen Choice Best Song by a Male Artist was earned by Sing, by Ed Sheeran. The Teen Choice 2014 Best Song by a Group was won by One Direction’s song, Story of My Life. The award for the Best R&B/Hip-Hop song went to Fancy, by Iggy Azalea (featuring Charli XCX). On to the Teen Choice Awards 2014 awards presented for television shows, actors and actresses. Pretty Little Liars swept every category it was nominated in, including Drama Show, Actor: Drama (Ian Harding) and Actress: Drama (Lucy Hale). In the category of Teen Choice Awards 2014 Sci-Fi/Fantasy television shows, Vampire Diaries was the big winner, also sweeping every category it was nominated in. Nina Dobrev picked up the Best Actress Sci-Fi TV show Teen Choice award, while Ian Somerhalder won the award for Best Male Actor in a Sci-Fi/fantasy TV show. Vampire Diaries won the Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show. Going on to television comedies, The Big Bang Theory won the Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for Best Comedy. The Teen Choice Awrd for Best Actor in a Comedy TV Show went to Ross Lynch, for his role in Austin & Ally. The Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for Best Actress in a Comedy TV Show was won by Lea Michele from Glee. There were many other awards presented on the Teen choice 2014 Awards show, but these are some of the highlights. Selena Gomez also picked up an award for Best Female Hottie, though. The Teen Choice Award for the Best Male Hottie went to the entire group, One Direction. Also, the Teen Choice Awards 2014 award for the Best Comedian went to Kevin Hart. It was an entertaining show, but like many other awards shows, it was longer than it probably needed to be and handed out some awards that made it even longer, like the Scene Stealer ones and the one for Best Liplock, which, incidentally, was won by Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort of The Fault In Our Stars.
