Being one of the most highly anticipated films of 2014,"Fast and Furious 7" has now been set to premiere on April 10, 2015 instead of its original release last July 11. Despite star actor Paul Walker's untimely death, his character, Brian O' Conner, has been said to have ahappy ending in the upcoming film.
The actor's death last Nov. 2013 led to production delays, such as Universal Studios almost deciding to shelf the unfinished movie with Walker in it, and start with a new one. Director James Wan and writer Chris Morgan, however, made the necessary changes to the "Fast and Furious 7" script.
The late actor's two brothers, Cody and Caleb, have been featured in the upcoming film as body doubles for Walker as the cast and crew did the re-filming. It has also been reported that Cody will be taking on a full-time role in future movies for the "Fast and Furious" installment.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Cody opened up about his brother's unexpected departure. "It still doesn't feel real because sometimes working in this industry and making films, he'd be away from his family three, four, six months at a time and my only interaction would be a phone call," Cody said. "So I know it's going to take a while, it's going to take a few years before it even feels real."
Walker's close pal and co-star Vin Diesel, who portrays Dominic Torretto in the films, took to Facebook and shared a photo of the two of them together while on the set of the "Fast and Furious 6" film.
Another picture of the New York-born actor alongside other co-stars Tyrese and Ludacris was posted to express their mourning for the death of a fellow actor and a good friend.
Diesel also shared that the late actor's passing had been "one of the darker moments in his life."
Jordana Brewster, who plays Conner's love interest and Dominic's sister Mia Torretto, also opened up about filming the upcoming "Fast and Furious 7" in the midst of Walker's absence.
"I'm sure it will be very bittersweet," Brewster told to E! News. "We all just want to honor Paul going back. I'm looking forward to being back with the Fast family, but there's definitely a key element missing."
Aside from Diesel, majority of the cast members from the past "Fast and Furious" movies will reprise their roles, including Ludacris as Tej Parker, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, and Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz. Latest additions to the cast and to the franchise include Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, and Kurt Russell.
"Fast and Furious 7" has been slotted to arrive in theaters in April next year, and is expected to begin from where "Fast and Furious 6" ended.
