Kendall Jenner shuns colour to stand out at Teen Choice Awards

When it comes to red carpets, fitting in is never a good look. Kendall Jenner broke the Kardashian family mould on Sunday night, avoiding wearing matching outfits with her sisters at the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California.

While it has been a habit of the famous clan to wear complimentary ensembles, the 18-year-old did not even come close to looking similar to siblings Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, who also attended the event. The model showed how simple can be chic and stunning in an all-white outfit featuring a cowl neck draped top over high waisted tailored pants.

Following with her reputation for showing off a bit of thigh at red carpet events, Kendall’s pants, while conservative at first look, had a sheer panel on each leg that revealed her slender pins. Keeping with the look’s less is more theme, the star slicked back her dark locks in a messy slightly voluminous half up, half down ‘do.

Kendall also kept her makeup subtle but defined with natural looking bronzed face with nude glossy lipstick, subtle white eye shadow and exaggerated but not over the top brows and eyelashes. While Kendal broke with Kardashian tradition, Kim and Kylie obviously exchanged notes when choosing outfits.

Both the 33-year-old and the teen donned cropped black tops – Kim’s being leather and long sleeved and Kylie’s short sleeved – with patterned skirts. As always, Kim made sure to show off her famous curves in a very tight high waisted zebra print skirt, while her 17-year-old sister wore a softer green and brown printed skirt with an asymmetrical hemline.

The pair also wore their dark hair out, with Kylie opting for a soft curl at the end of her locks compared to Kim’s straight ‘do. For the ladies, the night was not just a celebration of Hollywood’s top young stars but also Kylie’s 17th birthday making it all the more special.
