Her wedding was supposed to be a week later, in a much different location. But Lisa Wilson changed everything so that she could share one more dance with her father.
Her dad, David Wilson, was in the last days of a battle with a rare cancer. To ensure that her father would be there as she wed her fiancé, Robert Pantoja, she moved her nuptials to his bedside at UCI Medical Center in Orange, California.
"No, it's not a bride's dream," she told CBS2. But it meant that they could have their father-daughter dance.
When she told him about the change of plan, he initially protested. He wasn't well enough to get up and dance.
"I said you don't have to. I want to dance with your hands," she explained.
In the Facebook video above, uploaded to David Wilson's Facebook page before hedied Tuesday night, the pair shares their first kiss as a married couple before she takes her father's hands. The song "I Will Always Love You" plays in the background, and she tears up as she sways from side above him and helps him spin her. But even as she blinks back tears, she's smiling.
They got their father-daughter dance -- "the best gift a daughter could give," read the caption.
